From start to finish - A satisfied client!

Hello February!

Another month, another project to share with you....

This client wanted a spacious, multi-use and fully functional space for their family of two kids and two pets. We created a family-friendly living room that had a grown-up but cozy feel without the worry of “no touch” areas. Fabrics and materials were chosen to stand the test of time. In addition, we incorporated some sophistication using warm tones and gold accent finishes for lighting and accessories.
When the project was completed, we were pleased that the family was so excited about the end result, that what was accomplished for these homeowners reflected their active lifestyle and was achieved in a timely manner.

And here is the result....

I try to inspire clients to discover their own style and match that with practical needs. The area rug is usually where I start my design process.  I consider rugs as "a piece of artwork on the floor" and my design decisions not only breathe new life into a room but are budget friendly and the inspiration for the rest of the design plan.

I like to combine existing furniture with the new in most of my projects, but in this case, the client wantea fresh start for this room. So most of what you see here is new with the exception of few accessories and the round mirror on the mental.

The finished touches...

See your design come to life with my Master Design Plan which will allow YOU to visualize and implement the design at your own time frame just like this client.

I hope you enjoined the journey into my client's Living Room.

For those people who like to feel current by following trends, there’s a lot going on in kitchen design to bring excitement and newness to this most productive room in your home.  As an interior designer, I am bombarded with new options for materials, finishes and other ideas this time of year. (see picture above) Last year , satin brass made its debut in kitchens and that trend continues in other interior spaces. This finish looks amazing against almost any color and when mixed with other finishes creates an eclectic look. In 2018, look for matte black in baths as well. If you are looking for a statement-making look that is both contemporary and complementary with a variety of materials and styles, embrace this versatile finish. Brass -

Useful ideas on choosing a bookcase

Du interiors  Bookcases can be classical, fanciful, functional and personal …they really add to the anatomy of a room. They display your favorite reads as well as framed memories. There are so many options on deciding on the best for your nest. Here are important considerations. What Size Should Your Bookcase Be? The most basic consideration is size. How much space do you have in the room you have in mind? If space is ample, wide bookcases that measure several feet across are a good design idea. However, if room is small, go up! Taller bookcases work in space limitations, if you plan on placing a lot on them. Otherwise, one or more small bookcases would work.  Measure the room before you shop. What Type of Bookcase Do You Want? If you need inspiration, we suggest checking out houzz.com , Pinterest, Instagram, and so forth. There are so many choices on the market. What is Your Budget? Prices range from several hundred dollars to thousands if you want a custom built-in. If yo
