Details matter!

Now that the holidays are behind us but still cold, winter days ahead, wouldn’t it be nice to have a place in your home where you can relax and rejuvenate? For many, it could be your inviting spa just down the hall. Bathrooms do not have to be totally utilitarian. Adding certain elements can transform them into comfortable versions of a spa. You can create a place to rejuvenate and retreat to with the addition of details, and details matter! You can update a few elements such as the faucet, hardware, lighting and accessories that can miraculously change the look and function of your bath.   https://www.houzz.com/hznb/photos/manhattan-beach-ca-beach-style-los-angeles-phvw-vp~138004736 How much should you update? Perhaps you have a yearning to return to the days when family and friends sat in one place together and laughed and shared their days with each other? Dining rooms do not have to be stuffy and formidable. Now that autumn has transitioned to winter and people are spending more time indoors, chances are you would use the dining room more if you gave it a little attention? Style for the season

What do we all have in common when the weather turns cooler? We don’t want to get out from our warm beds! But is your bedroom beginning to look tired? Now is the time to bring a little cheer to your slumber palace. If your bedroom doesn’t need it, think of your guest room(s). It doesn’t take a major investment to make some changes to create a wide awake look. Step 1 : I recommend starting with an “anchor piece” like a rug.  Choose colors from warm rust, browns and beiges that are easy to find this time of year.  This tangerine  rust area rug creates a cozy and inviting feel to any bedroom. allmodern.com The white  and charcoal grey graphic  rug below works well with  the warm wood  and  leather bench and  caramel accent pillows. article.com A white textured rug for a crispy winter look with black and blue/green accents. I recommend looking for architectural elements that you want to highlight before you decide which wall and what materials you choose. Statement walls make more of a statement if you don’t incorporate too many in your home. Here are wall treatments that are popular now. Shiplap Many Street of Dreams houses this year are showing white or painted shiplap that have been favorites in modern farmhouse-style homes.   A favorite of mine is the “Scandinavian” light casual vibe that white painted shiplap gives to spaces.
