DINING TABLES...where memories are formed!

The dining table becomes the centerpiece of at home activities when people are mandated into isolation. It is around the dining table that memories are formed, where people showcase their talent for setting a table as an artistic endeavor, where tears and laughter, hearty soups and stews, and everyday life comes together. If you are among the many people, not just locally but around the world, who are working from home, or you have children getting educated online and doing homework, it makes sense to let the dining table serve multiple purposes other than mealtime. Tips: If your table shares space with a wall that is partially lined with built-in shelves, it can mix your work things, schoolbooks with other décor objects. Additional books and decorative items can be stored above on open shelving. Katie Hodges Desi...

Oh, the joy of accessories!

Du interiors project A person can have a lovely home with nice things and it can look attractive but the overall effect is that nothing really grabs the eye.  What could make the pleasantly ordinary come alive are well-placed accessories. It is with decorative objects that a home gets its personality. Their color, form, texture and design transform a room from OK to “wow”. Du interiors It could be achieved by adding just one oversize art (bathroom below),  one interesting object (the metal display  ladder blanket below),  or a collection of things that are distinctive and eye-catching like the 3 candle-wall sconces in the bedroom below. For some, adding that out-of-the-ordinary vase or arrangement or piece of art does the trick.  Du interiors Master Bedroom Du interiors Bedroom Du interiors Bedroom Objects give rooms personality.  You may be able to achieve this yourself. Spring Home Refresh!

Du interiors Beauty comes in many forms, and there is no better place to celebrate it …and your life…than the place you call home. Especially Spring, because this season is all about renewal and rejuvenation as your eyes drink in the rainbow of colors you see blossoming all around you. Our senses are aroused by escaping from grey, cloudy days. Windows and doors are opened to inhale the sweet smell of Spring days. Here I am offering ideas for you to bring in to your home to welcome one of our favorite seasons. COLOR ME SPRING My favorite Spring palette combines white, camel (chairs below), and soft pink or blush . They are fresh, striking – and unquestionably in season. They also provide some warmth without going too over the top, if pastel colors are not your favorites. https://www.milkmagazine.net/a-suivre-etrumtill/ Another idea is using all-white to brighten your home for Spring . If you don’t wish to go all-hog, choose sheer, white curtains that welcome i...

Here’s how to bring back your dining room

https://www.houzz.com/photos/mindera-model-home-transitional-dining-room-miami-phvw-vp~46261893 Is your dining room sitting alone and abandoned most of the year, a stepsister to the more popular open kitchen or family room? Perhaps you have a yearning to return to the days when family and friends sat in one place together and laughed and shared their days with each other? Dining rooms do not have to be stuffy and formidable. Now that autumn has transitioned to winter and people are spending more time indoors, chances are you would use the dining room more if you gave it a little attention? Du Interiors offers Beautiful Ideas: The Rug: A rug is a good first choice because it can set the tone and introduce the color scheme. Decide whether you are looking for a soft and relaxing tone with light colors or you prefer drama with darker shades. Coordinate the walls with a hue from the rug and all other accents like chair cushions, art work or lighting like the picture below....

Style for the season

What do we all have in common when the weather turns cooler? We don’t want to get out from our warm beds! But is your bedroom beginning to look tired? Now is the time to bring a little cheer to your slumber palace. If your bedroom doesn’t need it, think of your guest room(s). It doesn’t take a major investment to make some changes to create a wide awake look. Step 1 : I recommend starting with an “anchor piece” like a rug.  Choose colors from warm rust, browns and beiges that are easy to find this time of year.  This tangerine  rust area rug creates a cozy and inviting feel to any bedroom. allmodern.com The white  and charcoal grey graphic  rug below works well with  the warm wood  and  leather bench and  caramel accent pillows. article.com A white textured rug for a crispy winter look with black and blue/green accents.
