Master Bedroom Retreat

When redecorating our homes, priority often goes to the public spaces, while the private rooms like the bedrooms which are where we spend the largest portion of our lives quickly fall on the list of spaces to work on someday. And this is the case of many of my clients.
After Du interiors successfully designed this couple’s entry/family/dining homein Tigard, Oregon, they enlisted Du interiors to take on their upstairs master bedroom.
Both wife and husband knew what they like and disliked...but pulling it all together was going to be Du interiors task. The wall paper was the foundation for the design concept of the master bedroom while the metal headboard and many other material and texture provide a warm and invited monochromatic palette to this relaxing master bedroom.

If your Master Bedroom falls on the list of spaces to work on someday, this is a good the time to change the situation. The holiday is over, the kids are back to school, taxes are done, the winter weather still here, so what could be more enjoyable than a peaceful haven in which to warm up, relax and rejuvenate at the end of the day? Here are few elements to consider as you create your master bedroom retreat.

Mattress. The single most important element in the bedroom is a good mattress. There are endless options, so take the time to research the options online before heading to a mattress store to test them.
Frame. After the mattress, the next item to decide on is what type of frame or headboard would be good match with your lifestyles. An upholstered headboard would be a smart choice if reading is part of your nightly routine.
Bedding. In addition to offering warmth and comfort, it plays a major role in setting the design. The options are endless.

Lighting.  Soft lighting helps to create a relaxing atmosphere. If reading light is required, make sure that the light falls where it’s needed.

Night stands and additional furniture, area rug, mirror, art, and color pallet are where you introduce your personal style.

Useful ideas on choosing a bookcase

Du interiors  Bookcases can be classical, fanciful, functional and personal …they really add to the anatomy of a room. They display your favorite reads as well as framed memories. There are so many options on deciding on the best for your nest. Here are important considerations. What Size Should Your Bookcase Be? The most basic consideration is size. Oh, the joy of accessories!

Du interiors project A person can have a lovely home with nice things and it can look attractive but the overall effect is that nothing really grabs the eye.  What could make the pleasantly ordinary come alive are well-placed accessories.
