Let Your Walls Talk

One of the ways in which you can showcase your personality is through wallpaper. Just as vintage clothes are an expression of you, wallpaper is also back in  style. What's new is that material and selections now reflect the modern age.

Wallpaper can transform a room in ways that paint cannot.
Wallpaper adds depth, design elements and dimension to any room. It also creates a focal point that inspires conversation.

Whether the mood you want is fun with something wacky but stimulating or beautifully classic, with wallpaper you can transform a room's look without altering the space.

Importantly for many, it is less expensive that new furniture!

There are so many options from which to choose: fabrics, grass cloth, cork, metallic and flocked, in addition to conventional paper and vinyl. The effects you can achieve are limitless!
For this project the accent wall in the master bedroom area is covered with wallpaper that resembles reclaimed wood, a hot trend in interior design.

This is where professional interior design skills can be useful.  I can suggest whether you should cover just one wall for an accent and create the drama you want through wallpaper without making a major commitment in time and money. I save you time by listening to what you want and narrowing the choices as there are so many.

Keep in mind that not every wall covering is right for every room. What is suitable for a bathroom with moisture is different than working with a hallway or high traffic area used by kids or pets. For instance, a washable finish with a colored or patterned background won't show fingerprints.

If you find a design you like, chances are you will like it on your wall. Unlike paint, however, you can't just paint over it. It will be more tedious and costly to remove.

Couple builds dream home in Walla Walla

Melissa & Mike visiting the construction site... a marvelous winter landscape! The calendar years of 2020/2021 have been one of the most challenging and unpredictable years of my life. On the other hand, they have also been one of my best professionally. The saying time flies when you are busy is true! My last blog was in November! Therefore, I am enjoying taking a break and sharing with you my pleasure in having had an opportunity to meet some wonderful new clients and catch up with existing clients. They kept me busy with consultations, renovations, new contractors and problem-solving with people working and teaching their children at home. You might think the interval during new construction won't have much of an effect on interior design, but decisions made from initial drawings and during construction have a profound effect on home decor. They set the groundwork for client satisfaction, such as this project. As the point person for a couple building their third (and fi...
