Now is the time to bring a little cheer to your slumber palace. If your bedroom doesn’t need it, think of your guest room(s). It doesn’t take a major investment to make some changes to create a wide awake look. Statement walls make more of a statement if you don’t incorporate too many in your home. Here are wall treatments that are popular now. Shiplap Many Street of Dreams houses this year are showing white or painted shiplap that have been favorites in modern farmhouse-style homes.   A favorite of mine is the “Scandinavian” light casual vibe that white painted shiplap gives to spaces. You can create a warmer rustic look using natural stained shiplap. © du interiors @ Street of dreams 2019 - Wilsonville © du interiors @ Street of dreams 2019 - Wilsonville Here are other materials desig...

The right accent pillows steal the show!

modern-west.com  This month I am introducing my readers to Jeana, and i am also giving you some advice about throw pillows. But first, I will let Jeana speak for herself. "Hi!  I'm Jeana Dahle and I have a textile addiction that I use to curate and collect beautiful textiles from around the world and make them into pillow covers to share with others.   Growing up I some of my first memories are of sitting under a table at the flea market of my home town with my mama and grandma selling hand crafted items they had sewn or baked. They were the first "makers" in my life and I absolutely loved being with them as they created and sold their craft. My own love for sewing started when I was in junior high and couldn't find shorts that were "fingertip length" and school appropriate. My mama taught me how to shop for fabric, read a pattern, and sew my own shorts. The rest is history as they say.  I love being a maker and my business has evolved, p...
