Whether it’s tea for two on an island in Capri or dinner for 10 in your home, a creative table setting adds an extra dimension to the dining experience.

You can play with so many ideas, a Mediterranean theme, or Mexican or African…just about any country on the globe has cultural objects.

If you do not have the accessories to start with, begin collecting whenever you see something that would work. It’s amazing what you can find shopping on your own house if you think out of the box.

I always find something that I purchased on my travels like wraps from Africa or straw beach mat from Mexico as a table runner, bracelet from Hawaii as napkins holder, etc.

Scarf from South of Africa

Candles? Always! Add votives to take your centerpiece from day to night. You can play with colors and different heights to make the table décor interesting. You could go seasonal and use greenery in your garden or find some objects at the local nursery or your supermarket.

A little tip: You can purchase small potted plants to decorate your table top and give to your guests as a Party Favor at the end of your Party.

Whatever you choose, your guests will enjoy the extra effort you make…on Valentine’s Day so will your husband or significant other!

So if you want to take a seasonal approach to outdoor table settings. Here are 4 easy and inexpensive ideas for you to try out this summer since it looks like we won’t be doing a lot of traveling.

Make it yummy…

I love to create a beach feel when serving fresh fish from the grill. The summery turquoise napkins and votive candles invite guests to the table. You can just lay white sand along the center of your table top and scatter some tea lights and Viola!

A palm branch can serve as a table cloth – and give you a totally unique style!

Melissa & Mike visiting the construction site... a marvelous winter landscape! The calendar years of 2020/2021 have been one of the most challenging and unpredictable years of my life. On the other hand, they have also been one of my best professionally. The saying time flies when you are busy is true! My last blog was in November! Therefore, I am enjoying taking a break and sharing with you my pleasure in having had an opportunity to meet some wonderful new clients and catch up with existing clients. They kept me busy with consultations, renovations, new contractors and problem-solving with people working and teaching their children at home. You might think the interval during new construction won't have much of an effect on interior design, but decisions made from initial drawings and during construction have a profound effect on home decor. They set the groundwork for client satisfaction, such as this project. As the point person for a couple building their third (and fi...
